After spending he afternoon jumping off a 75 foot cliff into the crack through the llano batholith into the Edwards Aquafer at the historic location of

the Earliest Mormon colony in Texas 'Mormon Mills' in Marble Falls Tex.(it was a campground then, now you can only see it from satellite photos :-{ ) We all decided to go to Manor downs for GD and 4th of July. AWESOME!!! is not a word I use Lightly or often but altered awareness from the product of cow pies ;-} and fireworks with "Jerry and The Gang" Jamming is something I will never forget! I did not follow them in later year like so many (wish I could have!) but I caught a few shows and all I can say is It was Grateful Dead and it was sooo! goood! I was there and I'm a Grateful Head!!!

So totally Bob to plan out the perfect connection between lyric and circumstance and then, in the heat of the moment, sing the wrong song. You can just

Thanks Charlie and Joe
Thanks Charlie and Joe for updating an already sweet version. The AUD songs on this are pretty killer, especially the Sugar Mag. I think this is a
...
really underrated show. The Jack Straw, Peggy-O, Birdsong, Playin', NFA, and Sugar Mag. are all among my favorite versions, with Peggy-O and Sugar Mag. currently topping any other version I can think of. The China-->Rider isn't far behind either. @WHEEL1 -- Yep. I remember seeing Hell's Angels at the gate I went in. You are correct and brentmydland7990 is wrong. It was a killer show. @Wastrel Way -- I don't recall parachutists at this one, but I do the next year, 7/31/82. The fireworks were cool, especially entertaining . . . .

I just got through listening to all of June & July 1980, so this is a welcome change. ;-) Not spectacular, but there are some awesome moments.

I was there
This show started with guys parachuting into the crowd. The fireworks show between sets was one of the best I've ever seen. An unexploded bomb fell near
...
me and I took it home and blew something up, I forget what! Oh, and the music was excellent. A splendid time for everyone on America's birthday.

....Tea for Texas
Bobby attempts to improvise lyrically in Jack...the flub is a bit humorous as the rest of the boys keep it together. ***EDIT*** It just dawned on me
...
that perhaps Bob confused the "Leaving Texas..." line with the "Tea for Texas" line from New Minglewood. Brent is really lighting it up, love the keys rollin in Me and My Uncle, and the solo in Big River, man oh man. Lots of energy in this show and the sound is excellent. Thank you Charlie for all that you've done and continue to do.
